prefer rubber personally, just had another new Otterbox Impact. 1piece, well paddede, simple to fit, easy access to all ports, but my favourite, it Frames the screen perfectly so you not feeling all over the dead areas off the sides and ends. Various colours, stripes even, but I stick to plain old black. Good protection without too much additional bulk. Took off a GS HD case in favour of this one.
I habitually put my phone down face down, the case keeps the screen well clear of the surface. The rubber gives a secure grip and it don't slide anywhere for nothing.
