You may want to simply call AT&T tech support and alike when your sighted help is there. If you tell them you're a visually impaired person and explain to them that you are having a bit of a problem with the setup, I'm sure they will help walk you and your assistant through the entire process. This will save you tons of hassles as well as getting everything working properly in one session rather than through many email messages. Who better than AT&T to help with any problem you may come across.

Hi,
If this is an At&t phone and the card is not installed the phone will tell out this. Inside the box there should be a little book and inside this book will be the little tool you can use to take the card out if it is not instaleed. Also the card may be in the book if the phone tells you that there isn't one in it by default. Another way you can check this is go in to the about section of the phone and it should have the SIM card number in the listing.

Hi,

My 5 did not come with a SIMM card. I was told you only need one if you are
on a GSM network.

Have fun.

First, the phone arrived it was set to factory so I was able to triple click
home to bring up voice
over. The phone is now charging. What's in the box? What I saw was a
phone the connecting cable
the AC connector the earphones and a funny plastic bit with a hole in the
center. There is also a
small envelope/jacket/folder which I have not opened in case there are any
important fiddly bits
which might go missing. At this point the phone reports no service and that
brings me to my final
question here I was told by a family member who also has a 5 that the sim
would already be in the
phone. Yes? No? What else might I be missing in the box and is there a
way to determine if the
card is indeed installed?
