You guys remember a major security loophole in earlier versions of iOS 6
where a hacker can bypass the lock screen on a passcode locked device
and do goodness knows what. It has now been fixed but is apparently
still present on the iPhone 4. This is an example of why it is so
important to update firmware, and the iPhone is no exception.

I'm wondering if there could be security issues if you do not update the latest
version of iOS? What do people think?

Hi Sarah,
This is just my own experience and your mileage may vary.
Since upgrading the iOS on my 4s, it seems like my battery runs out
faster regardless of what apps I may be using. Also, I find that my
phone drops the wifi connection quite often even in areas (of my
house) where the connection used to be strong and steady.
As I said, I'm not sure if this is definitely related to the update,
but it is my observation.
If I could go back to an earlier iOS I would.
I hope this is helpful.

Hello,
I have the 4s and have not taken the plunge and updated to IOS 6 yet. Before
I do, I have some questions. (I still have the origional 5.0 that came on my
phone).
I currently find phone numbers and addresses of businesses near me by asking
Siri where they are. Obviously this is using google's maps. How does this
function work using Apple's map app. How accurate is the information it
provides?
Is the new google maps app accessible for finding businesses? If so, can you
search for "italian restaurants" nearby, or do you just have to search for
"Olive Garden"?
Does Apple's map app provide bus schedules that can be accessed with Siri?
Is there a way to get bus schedules on google maps?
Also, I use navigon regularly, and just got the new version of Skype. Do
they still work well on 6.0?
Is there anything else I should be aware of if I upgrade to 6.0? Benefits?
Drawbacks?
Thanks,
Sarah
