It only matters if you use a password. I don't, and I don't personally
know of anyone who does. This was apparently only in IOS6, not earlier
versions.

faster regardless of what apps I may be using. Also, I find that my
phone drops the wifi connection quite often even in areas (of my

but it is my observation.
If I could go back to an earlier iOS I would.
