After registering my iPhone kindle app, it logged in, and all the books I had
ordered when using the accessible kindle for pc program were in the cloud, in
my library. I don't know how much space Amazon allows a user to have on their
server to store their purchases, but I would think it would be enough to store
a lot of books, being they don't take up a lot of space.

I know I probably won't read one of the books in my library, so I did an
experiment. I downloaded it to my iPhone, then deleted it. When I went back to
the cloud, it was still there, and allowed me to download it again. It really
downloaded again, as opposed to simply accessing the deleted file on my iPhone.

Feel free to confirm this experiment, I only report what happened for me.

My conclusions so far are that one can access their in the cloud kindle library
with whatever kindle device they wish to use, so long as you use the same
kindle account, and that storing books you wish to save can be done by simply
leaving them in the cloud until you want to read them again. Some of the books
in my cloud library I purchased when that accessible for pc app came out,
probably a couple years ago, and were still there.

  Subject: Kindle App for iPhone

I spent several hours yesterday trying to get to the confirmed senders to
receive email to the Kindle app but I just get taken back to the same place and
I don't like the fact that I can't backup my books to my computer. I'm not at
all impressed with Amazon's Kindle reading app.

I have to admit though that the actual reading of a book is just as easy as
it is with the iBooks Apple app is. The difference being, the iBooks app does
let you store your books on your computer in a folder called books which you
can manage yourself. Deleting books you've already read or just moving them to
a DVD to save disk space on your iPhone seems to me to be a more useful method
then the cloud.

Subject: Possibly off topic Kindle problem

The reason this may be off topic is that it has to do with the
inaccessibility of a part of their web site that supports the app and not the
app itself. If I am crossing the line here, the moderators will let me know.

I can not delete books from the cloud as a sighted person would. If I go to
manage my Kindle to the book I want to delete from the cloud, there is a pop up
actions menu that neither JAWS or NVDA will open. I just spend an hour on the
phone with Amazon and was told that that pop up contains the delete option.
They are alerting their web people to the fact that this may be a screen reader
problem at least in Windows.

I just wanted to report this in case people had the same problem. I don't
think people will want to hear from everyone if they are simply confirming
this. However, if you do get it to work, it would be nice to know how you did
it.

Thanks much, and sorry if I stretched the bounds of the list topics.

    Neal
