Hi,

I don't see why Apple would care if you could take the books off the device or 
not.  It doesn't effect there bottom line either way.  I suspect this is an 
Amazon restriction.  Like you said, its there app after all.  What could be 
stopping them from allowing access to the actual files via iTunes?
