Hallo the list,
I wonder if any of the Text Grabber developers are here on this list? I
can't find a support address for them within the app. I just scanned about 50
sheets of text, using the StandScan Pro and Text Grabber. With my trusty
stickers in place, i just dropped the phone, sans case, into place, piled the
documents inside the box, lights on, and proceeded to scan, removing each one
after hearing "Processing". I didn't even read the recognised text, trusting
the the reliability of the app and the box. It took me about 15 minutes and I
found all my results in the History Tab of Text Grabber. To my delight, I have
near perfect scans in all cases! So, the procedure was vastly quicker because I
didn't copy or in any way move the results, knowing that I would find them in
History. Now, what I would love to be able to do is: be able to move from
within an opened, scanned, document, in history, and, after having read the
text, have a gesture, perhaps, the 3 finger flick left/right, to take me
straight into the text of the next/previous document. If not this, perhaps, as
in the email app, it would be possible to have a "previous" and "next" button.
This would make it easy to read, page by page, through a long scanned document.
Another solution would be to be able to, not only copy, as in the menu, but
to have the option to append to clipboard. However, I guess this last
suggestion might not be possible as it may have implications for the IOS
platform and so, might be beyond the scope of the developers of Text Grabber.
With this new found accuracy, using the light box and the app, I feel we
are now moving toward a much more functional application of the OCR
capabilities of the phone and its camera.
So, is anyone in touch with the devs of Text Grabber? Can you send me in
their direction?
