Hi Andrew, My understanding is that if you switch to a different app, the first one will keep downloading for 15 minutes, then be stopped even if the download isn't complete. So if you're quite sure the download will finish in 15 minutes or less, you can switch apps and not return to the first one; otherwise, you'll want to return to the first app in less than 15 minutes to keep the download going. There are also apps, such as the Learning Ally one, that require you to keep the app in focus during the whole download. Learning Ally tells you this when you start a download. I would imagine other apps that work similarly would also inform you since this is not typical behavior.
