Hi all.
I have a weird problem with my iPod 4th generation. I had an appointment today to see Dracula, in other words I donated blood. Since where you are stuck doesn't have anything to do except talk to the person who is taking your blood, and I do talk to them, I wanted to have music to relax me. I took my handy dandy iPod and started listening to music while waiting for my ride. All of a sudden the iPod stopped playing music, and VoiceOver quit working. This was with headphones plugged into the iPod. I unplugged the headphones, and got speech after a few seconds. I noticed the battery level was at 20%, and I find that my iPod overestimates this value. When I got home I plugged my iPod to be charged. I waited about ten minutes to make sure it had some charge to work with. I hit the sleep button, and there was no speech, no sound, no audible feedback from it. I thought that there was something wrong with the volume of the sounds, so I struggled to get into settings, and found the volume was at 100%. I then thought it was the issue some have where the headphone jack gets dust into it, so I repeatedly plugged and unplugged my headphones quickly in the jack. I did get it to work with headphones, but not out of the external speaker. After another few minutes I did get VoiceOver out of the external speaker, but it was intermittent. I figured that it was an issue with the headphone jack, and at least I could listen to items using my Jam Box over Bluetooth. Here's where things get weird. VoiceOver was intermittent with the Jam Box and a Bluetooth connection. This leads me to think something else is wrong. I did the not recommended reboot of pressing the sleep button repeatedly, as well as doing a full boot by holding power and home. This didn't help. As of right now the iPod is working, but I'd like some ideas to try if it happens again. Perhaps it was just a low battery, and it took some time to get the iPod charged. If any of you have ideas for me to try I'd appreciate them. Thanks for your help.
