Hi Fellow OCr Fans!

Like many of us, I downloaded Prizmo 2 yesterday and have played with it a
little. primarily, I have questions about it and, perhaps, some of you have the
answers?

    1. We do seem to have lost the option to give voice commands to take
picture. Am I wrong?

2. Prizmo now gives feed-back as to the positioning of the phone when scanning.
Now, if you use a StandScan Pro, this is irrelevant, it works anyway! But,
free-hand, how helpful do people find this? perhaps because I have got quite
proficient at using this app free-hand, I actually find these suggestions
off-putting, but that might just be me, old dogs and new tricks etc. However,
after a few attempts at using this new functionality, I find I am told "no page
visible" immediately followed by "ready to shoot" or something of the sort. I
am wondering, is Prizmo now working in the same way as the KNFB
device/software? I like the idea, but am not sure how useful in real terms it
is.

3. If scanning free-hand, I perfer to use both hands to hold the phone, I get
much better results this way, however, without the speak command, I find I have
to try and double tap while holding the position, which, I think, may be a
definite downside to the new update.

    4. It does seem that, especially when using P2 with the StandScan Pro, the
OCR is better and faster, however, it does seem that we must now consider the
page size options for best results with the SSP. Prizmo seems to be set to A4,
by default, but the base of the StandScan Pro is actually larger, It might be
American Letter size, not sure, but I found that I did better positioning my
document centrally, in the long axis, it is OK to abut along the back of the
box, in order not to lose some of the text in the scan.

    5. I am delighted to see that we can now add pages to previous scans, but,
thus far, I am finding it to be a rather complex method. Perhaps, it is just
me, has anyone found a method to do this in just one step?

Finally, I would still prefer Text Grabber for my everyday tasks. The
interface is so simple, the OCR equally as good and the speed, comparable.
However, Prizmo 2 does offer us some interesting options, perhaps it will be
most useful for "Power OCR users" I think it a baluable upgrade, but miss the
voice command feature. Only hoping that someone will tell me where to find it...

    Good wishes, Sandy.
