As for Bookshare lowering their membership fee, I sincerely doubt that
will happen. It's been $50 since I first became a member in 2003. It's
all about choice: do you buy? Do you download for free? I am starting
to actually get the content from Bookshare, convert it to doc, and
then upload to my Docs library on my Kindle account. I obviously don't
share the material with anyone, so I don't think there is a legal
issue there. However, if I really enjoy a book, or if I can't find it
elsewhere, I will certainly purchase it through iBooks, Nook, or
Kindle. Either way, we have many of the same choices now that our
sighted counterparts have, and it's a wonderful thing!
