Hi there. Don't feel bad for asking this. The answer isn't exactly obvious.
I believe that if you double tap any area of the book text it will bring up the menu. When the menu is up there should be a home button on the upper left corner of the screen. After selecting the upper left corner of the screen double tap with one finger and it should back out of the book and place you back in the library. At least I think this is how it works.
