Yeah I heard that too regarding rice but might be a negligible difference in
drying time. I would not continue to use the phone because you don't know
which parts were soaked. If any electronic circuit is wet and receives a
charge, it might fry the board. Please, please fight the temptation to
continue using the device for the next few days. If under warrantee, don't
tell them you got the thing soaked, but they may have ways of knowing this
kind of stuff as I'm assuming it happens quite frequently.

thank you so much for the quick response. I have taken the phone out of it's
case; in fact, it was the first thing I did. After holding the phone upright
for some time, the speaker sounds normal again.
I've heard of burying it in rice for a day can help with this sort of thing.
Have you tried that before?

How can I fix this? I had my phone on the edge of the sink, and it fell
inside while I was washing my hands. I didn't know about it until later,
when I couldn't find my bone and went into the bathroom to check the sink.
Anyhow, the speaker has been muffled, although the sound coming through
headphones is fine. There wasn't too much water on the phone or in it's
case, but a little goes a very long way.
