It's because of the way IOS sandboxes apps. You can't share resources such
as TTS voices among apps.

I suggest that if you have some cash burning a hole in your pocket, you
spend it on Tex Grabber. The interface of TG is much simpler and even using
it free-hand, it is now much easier to use than of yore. Plus, TG will also
work well with your StandScan Pro when it arrives.
