I have had my phone in the Otterbox case for over two years, never have taken it out once it was put in and other than the bottom flap not staying closed I have had no problems with the rubber casing. I was considering a case with a battery but, don't want to lose the part of my case that surrounds the screen or the protection, especially since I accidentally pulled it off a table not long ago and could not catch it.
