Hello, Alan. By any reasonable person's reckoning, the Bose MIE2i is pricey. Some will tell you that the latest generation of Apple Earpods sound almost as good. I just purchased an iPhone 5 a few days ago and have not yet tried the Earpods that come with it. I can tell you that the MIE2i headset is very comfortable. There are three sets of tips provided: medium (which comes mounted already), small, and large. The medium-sized tips fit my ears well, so I haven't tried swapping the tips out. They don't penetrate deeply into the ear canal and thus can be worn a long time without ear fatigue. If you like a flat audio response, as I do, you'll likely be pleased with theMIE2i product. Classical music sounds quite natural with no trace of artificial boominess or peakiness. The microphone's sound quality isn't particularly distinguished, but it will suffice. I haven't used it in compromised situations, such as a windy or noisy environment. The headset is A2DP compatible, so all of the remote gestures work, such as track selection, start and stop audio, etc.
