I have DirecTv and for the most part I like it. However, it is not
the most economical way to go.
For that I suggest you look elsewhere although some hard bargaining
does get results.
Still, you can easily record shows using your iPhone to command it.
Plus DirectVR, which is a third party app, allows you to use your
phone as a remote control.
The remote control portion of the iPad app, DirecTv's own, is not
accessible although the rest is.
I've complained as it used to be; but so far, nothing.
