Hello from the Team at AppleVis.
We wanted to let you know about our latest Campaign of the Month, which
features the popular music streaming service, Spotify.
Spotify offers a range of subscription options (both free and paid) on
desktop and mobile platforms. The good news is that their iOS app
<http://www.applevis.com/apps/ios/music/spotify> is mostly accessible.
The bad news is that using their streaming service on a mobile device
requires a Premium subscription at a cost of $9.99 per month! If you're
outside of the USA, the cost might be even higher - for example, the UK
price is £9.99, which roughly converts to $15 at current exchange rates!
The news gets even worse for blind and low vision users, when you find
out that iOS is currently the only available option that comes close to
being fully accessible - Spotify's Mac app is mostly inaccessible and
their web player has a number of significant issues when used with a
screen reader. As a result, using Spotify's free or lower priced
accounts on your Mac are not a viable option for those of us who rely on
screen readers. If you want to use Spotify, it's essentially on your iOS
device or nothing ... and that's going to cost you a premium!

We are asking that you support our latest campaign and urge Spotify to
provide blind and low vision users with fair and equal access by
ensuring that their service is accessible on all supported platforms,
and that they do so as a matter of some urgency. Not only would this be
a good commercial decision, but it would also simply be the 'right'
thing for them to do.
