Hi Russ, one alternative way to do this is to connect your iPod to iTunes on
your computer.
Once you back your iPod up, you can restore it and you will be asked if
you'd like to set up your iPod as a new device or restore from a backup.
If you choose set up as new, then all content will be removed and your
device will be like new. iTunes Will let you know when this is finished.
