My major complaint with IM+ Pro was that the editor was nonstandard. I found no way to insert text into the middle of a message, make edits to the text, or select text and delete it. The only way was to erase by character sequentially from the end of the message until you reached the spot you wanted to change. It’s been a while since I used IM+ Pro, so perhaps this no longer applies but it was a deal breaker for me.
