Alan, I raised this issue just a couple of weeks ago here. NFB told me at the 
time I was the only person ever to have reported this issue and they could not 
reproduce it. I did not get much confirmation of others having this same 
problem here, either. So, I gathered I was just unique… Just like my family 
says…
 One test I would ask is are you reading papers by first selecting your 
subscriptions and then updating  those subscriptions. Or are you just reading 
your favorites so that they are downloaded one paper at a time. I tried testing 
this twice and both times the system was off-line and I have not been able to 
try it again sense.

Just this weekend, I heard from another user who was having exactly the same 
situation. So, if you ever do get confirmation of the problem and or a 
solution, many will certainly appreciate it.
