Hi Jim,

What email client do you use, The more information you provide the easier it
is for others to give you the correct information.

If you use Outlook 2007 or 2010 you can use iTunes to sync your emails and
contacts with your iPhone.

However, you might seriously want to consider going to a web based email
service like Outlook.com from Microsoft or Gmail because as soon as you have
multiple devices using a POP email account is not the greatest. I personally
prefer Outlook.com because it uses Exchange Active Sync which does mail,
contacts and calendars. If you go with Google, you have to setup your gmail
account as IMAP on both your computer and your iPhone and then set up a
different so-called CardDAV account to sync your Google Contacts.

I know it's a pain in the neck to switch email accounts, but if you do go
through with it and once it's done you'll be glad you did since your mail
and contacts will always be kept in sync, you can add a contact on your
computer and it will magically show up on your phone or vice versa. The
other advantage is that if you ever get a new computer or iPhone/iPad, all
you have to do is set up your account and all your emails and contacts will
be there again, there is nothing to back up, you'll never loose all your
stuff because your hard drive crashed and you didn't have a backup etc.
Lastly, if you ever change your email provider your @outlook.com or
@gmail.com email address will not be effected.

If you let me know what exactly you use in terms of email client, I can
maybe give you some more pointers as to how to set it up for now and I'd be
happy to talk to you directly if you want more information about setting up
with Outlook.com or gmail. You can always email me directly at
[email protected].

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: apologies to the list.

The other day, I posted a message to the list, asking how to bring over my
contacts from my windows 7 computer to my IPad mini. I messed up and put
what I wanted to know in the subject line, and not in the body of the
message, and if that upset moderators etc. I apologize. However, I still
don't have a good answer, so if anyone can help me here, it would be
appreciated. Jim
