I don't know, but I assume a voice mail will show up in the Recent list, anyhow, just give it a try, there are only 2 possible outcomes, either it will work or it won't. I'm not saying this to be sarcastic, but it certainly won't do anything bad if you try it.

Here you have an Edit button at the top left, after you double tap on it you have a Delete Switch button beside each conversation, double tap it and double tap again to confirm. I do not know of a way to clear the entire Recents tab. Once you double tap Edit there is also another button at the top right which Voiceover reads as "Tick button". I tried to tab it and it just seems to take me out of Edit mode again just as if I had tapped on Done which appears in the same place as Edit (top left) after you double tap Edit.
