Hi Charlotte, I just wanted to let you know that I got some steps on creating ringtones Through iTunes, and you definitely still can create the tones through iTunes and iTunes only. I just tried it a few minutes ago, and it works flawlessly. Here's what you do: In your iTunes music library, select the song you want to create as a tone. Then, go to the get info tab, under the options tab, and type in a start and stop time of the song. Listen to the song, to make sure that it starts and ends where you want it to, then use applications key and arrow down to create an aac. Press enter on this and You should hear the tri-tone. Then, use the applications key again in arrow down to show in Windows Explorer. Press enter on this, and you will see your file. Now, you want to rename your file into an M4 are and when doing this, you should get a warning saying that if you rename this file, it may be on unusable. Go ahead and rename it anyway, then from in the Windows Explorer your tone is, press enter and the song should start playing. Then when it starts, it is automatically imported into iTunes. Now one thing you want to make sure of, is that you uncheck the hide known extension files underneath tools, view tab, because if this is not unchecked, you will not get a warning message as I explained earlier when renaming the file. I did not know anything about this until Sieghart From the list said something about doing this. You can still make the tones fromRMaker If you'd like, it's totally up to you. Just wanted to let you know that you can still do this through iTunes exclusively. Shane.
