NaviGon downloads maps so can be used without data. I think I also read
that My Way also doesn't use data.

To start tap create route. Once this opens tap create in the upper right
corner. Now a text box will open where you need to name the route. Now hit the

Hole your phone flat and with the top pointing in front of you. Shake the phone
to insert a way point. I like to insert a way point every time I make even the
slightest turn. The more way points you insert, the more information you will
get back.

will save your route.
To read the route go to route navigation, and then the direction you wish to
travel.
