That is probably the way I got it; buying in at the lower price.

I highly commend a developer for doing it the way this one is. That is
absolutely considerate of a company's customers.

Thanks for all your information!

Hello, Eric.

I'm glad you are seeing good results with the re-installation of Lire.

Here's how the pricing of Lire works. The app was never free as far
as I know. Versions before 1.9.22 cost $1.99. In those days, there
was a limit to the number of articles that were cached after feeds
were refreshed. One could buy an in-app addition for $4.99 that
removed this limit.

Starting with Version 1.9.22, the restriction on the number of cached
articles was removed, and the app's price was raised to $4.99. This
meant that those who bought the program at the lower price of $1.99
had the caching limit removed without paying a higher price. Kunal
Sood, Lire's developer, promises enhancements soon to those who paid
$4.99 in those early days to have the limit removed. This is, I
think, a fair way of handling the problem of trying to keep the
playing field as level as possible between those who paid $1.99 and
$4.99 and eventually ended up with the same functionality.

Does this make sense? If not, please let me know.
