Dear Sieghard,

Thanks for the explanation.  I understand the rationale for the Seeing
Eye app now. For folks who have never experienced a GPS solution,
Apple Maps in iOS 7 will likely be a great experience that can
certainly be helpful and highly useful.  For a high quality experience
that offers insane accessibility and audio support to the blind
traveler, the Seeing Eye app is clearly the option as it integrates
the benefits of multiple apps into one package.

I'm beginning to believe that an accessible GPS solution is entering
into the realm of essential adaptive technology for the highly
independent blind person along with a screen reader, portable book
reader and OCR technology.  In recent years, all of these have become
more affordable so it is possible to talk about a complete set of
tools within the budget of many.
