A Google search for "How much data does Skype use over 3G" gives you a ton of results where this is explained. Here are a few of the findings: We decided to try and find out how much data a typical Skype call would use, so we made a five-minute call from Skype on an iPhone over 3G to another Skype user. During that time, we received 1.5MB of data and sent 1.8MB for a total of 3.3MB of data transmitted. This would mean approx. 0.66 Mb per minute for a voice call although I also heard the number of 0.8 Mb before. Video calls take about 3.4 Mb per minute. If you have a 2 GB per month data plan I don't think you have anything to worry about unless you use up 90% of that for music streaming and so on. Even if you had only 100 Mb left, you could still use Skype for at least an hour and a half for audio calls over 3G.
