HI,

Having been reminded of Audio Labels, by the recent discussion re labelling
boxes for a move, I bethought myself "Hmmm, I remember thinking when this first
came out, there could be many and varied uses for it", but in the intervening
months/years, I forgot all about it. So, here goes with a suggestion for its
use, hoping to spur more inventive thought.

So, you have time on your hands. You have that huge CD collection that you
have always meant to label, but have never got round to it. You don't have
access to a pair of functioning eye-balls. So, how to complete the task?

    Answer: you need 2 Apps.
1. QR Code Reader.
2. Audio Labels.
    plus an internet connection.

    1. Choose your CD and scan the back for the bar-code using QR Code Reader.
2. Now you have the name of the CD and artist, Google for the track details.
(there are loads of sites out there with this info). Then snip the appropriate
details/track list and copy to clip-board.
3. Scan the bar-code again using Audio Labels. Click on "Description" (now it
might not be called that, I don't want to lose my place by opening the app just
now, but it is obvious anyway). Now, you can chose to just add the name/artist
into the Title edit field and then, in the details page, paste the track list
you got from the net. and, voila! Next time you use Audio Labels to scan the
CD, you will have the title/artist and, with a couple more taps, all the track
details!

And all done with your iPhone and, i think I am right in saying, 2 free
apps! And all done without sighted help.

I should say that I tried using prizmo/Text Grabber for the info, which
could also be pasted into the Audio label, but, thus far, find the results of
scanning CDs less than inspiring, often needing several attempts and, in the
end, not as good as taking it from the net.

Actually, the potential of Audio Labels for us is vast IMHO, any thoughts?

    Scanning Sandy.
