Email addresses are case sensitive, although the domain part is not, but
most email providers ignore the case of an email address to avoid confusion.
There's usually no reason for people to talk through their hat on the
list. For example, a Google search quickly leads to
http://email.about.com/od/emailbehindthescenes/f/email_case_sens.htm
which authoritatively answers this question.

Does the capitalizing of a first letter matter in an email address? i'm
