Sorry, but you are not receiving any answers for 6 weeks as punishment for
your traitorous act.

OK, joking aside, if you did an iCloud backup then just do a restore and
everything should be restored, but of course it will take some time for all
your apps to redownload. A backup only backs up settings, so the backup
contains the information about which apps you had installed and the layout
on your home screen, but the apps have to download again from the app store.
While they do, they will say Waiting, then one by one they download.

You also may find your home screen layout slightly different since the
iPhone 5 has space for one extra row of icons on each home screen.

Furthermore, you most likely will have to re-enter your passwords for any
Wi-Fi networks you had.

If you had done an encrypted backup via iTunes all the passwords would have
been backed up as well.

Lastly, any media such as music, ringtones, books etc. will not be part of
the backup, those you have to resync with your new phone.

And just as a very last general remark, I would have waited 2 months until
the new iPhone comes out. You should definitely get an iPhone 5 which means
at least that you should get all of the new iOS 7 features.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: an iPhone back up question

Hi I went for my phone upgrade.
And I thought that I would give the android A try.
Well before I get scolded for saying that on this list.
Because it is for the iPhone.
I am going back to the iPhone because a lot of the apps aren't there yet for
accessibility yet.
So when I go and get my iPhone 5 I have my user ID and password to my apple
ID so I can enter that and open up the i cloud on my new phone and put in my
apple user ID and password and tell my phone to back up from the cloud and
have all of my settings and apps back that I had from before I briefly left
the IOS platform.
Or what all do I need to do to get all of my stuff back and folders back the
way there where like on my old iPhone?
