Hello Robin, I have had experience with OtterBox defender, OtterBox commuter, and delight proof cases. The OtterBox funds can get dirtier a whole heck of a lot easier than the life proof. So I really do think that the light cases maybe have a little bit more protection then the OtterBox cases, for instance my brother. Got his iPhone five about two months ago, and just a few weeks ago he was out working on a job. And he was driving a machine called a bobcat hysteron proteron of this pocket, and he did not notice it until he got home and by that time it was already dark. He went back to the job site, and they looked for his phone. The phone, and the case we're down the close together the case was shattered. But the phone only have one scratch on it whatsoever. So that just goes to show you how well protected a life proof case is.
