Hi. I have the AfterShokz Bluez, which is the Bluetooth version of their
sports headphones with mic. You really can hear your surroundings because
the headphones fit just in front of your ear leaving the ear uncovered. The
headphones are attached to a band that fits over your ears and goes behind
your head. They took a bit to get used to, but they're actually quite
comfortable and fit well even though they're a loose fit.
The controls are quite simple. There's a answer/end call on the left ear
that also allows you to use SIRI if you press and hold the button. There's
an identical button on the right ear that starts and pauses music. The
other functions are on the headband, so you'd need to reach behind your head
to access them. There's a micro USB port with a small, flimsy swivel cover,
the on/off switch that also doubles as the pairing switch, and a volume
rocker switch.
I'm not sure about charging out of the US. Mine came with a USB cable that
I can connect to a PC or a wall charger. So far, I've just used my wall
charger, which is the same one I use for other USB devices. The included
cable seems fairly standard and would probably work with other things with a
micro USB port.
