1. Overview
Thank you for using UbiDisk!
UbiDisk offers the functions to download, store, view, edit, search,
transfer
and share files on your iOS devices. With seamless iCloud integration,
powerful download ability, friendly HTTP/FTP/Bluetooth file transfer and
many other useful built-in functions, it's one of the most useful utilities
available on App Store. It can also be used as private web browser and
secret
picture/video gallery. Just try it, and you'll know how useful it is.

Chapter 2: Dashboard
1. Function of each button
Browse and manage files on local storage.
Download files from web to local storage.
Transfer files between this device and your PC or
another device.

Chapter 3: File Management
1. About File Manager
You can store files in your device's local storage and use it any time.
To view and manage files in local storage, tap the icon on dashboard.
After tapping the icon, you will see the file manager screen as below:
2. File Details Screen
Tap to show the file details screen, on which you can:
· Rename file
· View file type, size, modification time and location
· Print file via AirPrint
· Send file via email
· Save file to Photos Album for supported image file and video file
· Open file with another application
· Send file via Bluetooth
· Delete file
3. Creating Folder
To create new folder, tap on the toolbar of file manager, select "New
Folder", and enter the name for the new folder.
4. Copying and Moving Files
You can copy and move one or more files between different folders. To copy
or move files:
· Tap on file manager to turn the file manager into multiple
selection
mode.
· Select one or more files, tap Copy or Cut, and the file manager will
switch to normal mode
· Goto destination folder
· Tap and select "From Pasteboard" to paste files into destination
folder
5. Deleting File
There're three ways to delete a file:
· Make a fast swipe from left to right on the item of file list
· Tap on file manager and select one or more files to delete
· Go to file details screen and tap the trash icon
6. Renaming File
You can renaming file or folder on the file details screen by tapping on the
file name.
7. Viewing File Content
To view a file, play movie or play music, tap the file on file list.
8. Creating TXT File
You can create and edit text file by tapping on toolbar and select "New
Text File".
9. Creating Webarchive File From Pasteboard
You can copy part of a webpage or the whole webpage on web browser to
pasteboard, and paste it into a webarchive file which can be opened offline
in
file manager.
Follow the steps below to create a webarchive file:
· Open the webpage in downloader
· Select the content to save
· Tap "Copy" to copy the content to pasteboard
· Tap "Paste" on toolbar to save copied content to "/Local/Downloads"
folder
10. Transferring File via Bluetooth
You can transfer file between two iOS devices via Bluetooth.
To transfer a file via Bluetooth:
· Go to the details screen of the file to transfer
· Tap on toolbar
· On another device, go to the folder in which to receive the file
· Tap on toolbar and select "Receive via Bluetooth"
11. Transferring And Sharing Files
UbiDisk provides an extensive methods for transferring and sharing files
between device and PC, and between two devices:
1. HTTP for transferring files between device and PC. Recommend for
most users.
2. FTP for transferring files between device and PC. Recommend for
professional PC users.
3. Bluetooth for transferring file between two iOS devices.
4. Email for publishing and sending files to another people
5. USB for high speed file transferring with a PC installed with iTunes
Tap on dashboard, select a method and follow the instructions to
transfer
or share files.
Chapter 4: File Compression &
Decompression
1. About File Compression
UbiDisk supports creating compressed ZIP file from one or more files and
folders, and supports extracting ZIP/RAR file, including password protected
ZIP/RAR.
Note: only basic ZIP format is supported. If you failed to open some ZIP
files, repack them on PC.
2. Extracting ZIP/RAR File
To extract ZIP/RAR file, open it and tap "Extract" button on toolbar to
extract all files inside into current folder.
3. Creating ZIP File
To compress one or more files into a ZIP file, tap on file manager or
search result, select one or more files, and tap "Zip" button. The selected
files
will be compressed into a zip file and placed in current folder.
Chapter 5: Importing and Exporting Files
1. Importing From Photos Album
You can import one image/video from Photos Album by:
· Tap on the toolbar of file manager
· Select "From Photos Album"
· Select the image/video to import
· Wait for several seconds, and the image/video will be saved to the
current folder
Or import several images and videos from Photos Album by:
· Launch "Photos" app on Home screen
· Open a collection
· Tap on toolbar
· Select the images and videos to import
· Tap the "Copy" button
· Launch UbiDisk
· Go to destination folder
· Tap on toolbar
· Select "From Pasteboard"
2. Capture From Camera
To take photo/video from camera and save it into current folder:
· Tap the camera icon on the bottom of file manager
· Take photo and tap "Use"
· Wait for several seconds, and the photo will be saved to the current
folder
3. Importing From Another Application
You can import files from other applications which support document
interaction. Here's an example:
· Open attachment in Email application or download a file in Safari
· Select open in UbiDisk
· The file is saved to the Local folder
4. Exporting To Photos Album
You can export one image to Photos Album by:
· Go to file details screen of the image file
· Tap on toolbar
· Select "Save to Photos Album"
Or by:
· Tap the image file on file manager to view in image viewer
· Tap on toolbar
· Select "Save to Photos Album"
5. Send via Email
To send one file via email:
· Go to file details screen of the image file
· Tap on toolbar
· Select "Email"
To send multiple files via email:
· Tap on file manager to turn the file manager into multiple
selection
mode.
· Select one or more files
· Tap "Share" button on the bottom of screen, and select "Send by Email"
6. Opening With Another Application
You can open file into another application by:
· Go to file details screen of the file
· Tap on toolbar
· Select "Open With Another App"
· Select the application to open
Note: if there's only "UbiDisk" displayed in the last step, it means no
other
application installed on your device can open the file.
Chapter 6: Integrated Web Browser and
Download Manager
1. About Integrated Web Browser
UbiDisk comes with a web browser for downloading files from internet into
local storage directly.
With the integrated web browser, you can:
· Surf the web in full screen and in all display orientations
· Select text and images on a webpage and save to file
· Download file, video and image from webpage
2. Pasting Web Content Into a File
To paste web content into a file:
· Select and copy the content on webpage, a "Paste" button will appear
on the toolbar
· Tap the "Paste" button
· The copied content is saved to /Local/Downloads folder as a file with a
"webarchive" file name extension
3. Downloading File From Link on a Webpage
There're two link following modes: "Manually Follow Link" and "Auto
Follow Link".
In "Manually Follow Link" mode, each time you tap the link on a webpage,
you will be prompt to follow the link or download linked file. If you choose
download linked file, a download task which will download the linked file in
background is added to download manager.
In "Auto Follow Link" mode, when you tap the link on a webpage, you will
only be prompt to download linked file for certain file type (.zip, .pdf,
.mp3
etc.).
You can change the download mode by tapping on toolbar.
All downloaded files are saved in /Local/Downloads folder.
4. Force Download Link And Image
You can force download link and image on webpage by tap and hold on it.
5. About Download Manager
All download tasks are managed by download manager. It keeps a task list,
downloads files in background and provides a Downloads view for managing
the download tasks.
6. Managing Downloads
You can manage download tasks in Downloads view. To open Downloads
view, tap on toolbar and select "Downloads".
Chapter 7: Viewers and Editors
1. Text Editor
You can open the text editor by opening any text file from file manager, or
creating a new text file.
With text editor, you can:
· View and edit text file in full screen and in all orientations
· Scale text with bigger or smaller font size
· Send text by email and SMS message
2. PDF Viewer
UbiDisk comes with an enhanced PDF viewer to make reading more easily. It
will remember the last view position for each file, and synchronize it to
all of
your devices installed with UbiDisk by iCloud.
With the PDF viewer, you can:
· Read PDF in full screen and in all orientations
· Go to previous page or next page
· Jump to any page
· Scale to fit screen, fit width, fit most or free scaling
3. Image Viewer
With the image viewer in UbiDisk, you can:
· View image in full screen and in in all orientations
· Go to previous image or next image in current folder
· Play images in current folder one by one automatically
· Scale image
· Send image by email
· Save image to Photos Album
