Hi All, SkySafari 3, an astronomy app, is free today in celebration of NASA's Cassini mission pointing towards the Earth from Saturn. This is a sky viewing program, but also a general education app. While the parts that involve displaying and viewing parts of the sky do not give information through VoiceOver, just about everything else that relays actual data content is accessible. In particular, use the "Search" button in the bottom left corner of the screen, and flick through the categories of sky objects, and/or type in search terms. The button options at the bottom of the screen span two pages, so use a three finger swipe right to navigate to the the second page, and double tap the "Help" button in the bottom right corner of the second screen for explanations of many astronomical concepts.
Links that aren't labeled that appear in the middle of descriptions are generally to enlarged images. If you happen to get one of these, just double tap on the center of the screen again to return to the text description. This is a universal app, and is now localized in Spanish and French, as well as English.
