Using one of the songs on my iPhone, I used that app to create a 40 second cut and create a resulting m4r file. Ringtone Maker has an option to send the new ringtone to anybody via e-mail so I opted to send it to both my iCloud and charter e-mail addresses. I was disappointed to find that the attachment sent back to my iPhone could be opened and played, but no option to squirrel it away for permanent use on the iPhone. However, when the attachment arrived on my desktop (Windows Vista) I saved it to the iTunes folders directly into the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder. I haven't tried to sync just yet, but I'm hoping this will work. It will be one way to "skin this cat."
