I have had good luck using a safety strap from an old pedometer. It was less
than $3 and has a metal clip at one end and a thin plastic loop at the other.
I slipped the loop through the Otterbox opening for the charger and fasten the
clip end to a belt loop and keep the phone in my pocket. If it should fall out
the safety strap catches it. I use a wired headphone all the time so run the
cord under my shirt so it doesn’t snag on things.
When I don’t have on regular clothes, such as when wearing pajamas, I put the
phone in a “belly bag” or “fanny pack” that is fairly small.
I ordered the pedometer safety strap from Amazon a couple years ago. It is
less than a foot long and I can pull out the phone and manipulate the screen
without unhooking it since I use earphones.
I saw the post about a neck strap but fear that I would not like the stress
pulling on my neck. I used to carry my Haven phone in a neck carrier and it
pulled on my neck. And the iPhone 5 weighs more than the Haven.

Subject: Secure Method of Carrying IPhone 5 with me

I have an IPhone 5 in an oterbox. I would like to carry it securely around
with me while doing housework, exercising, etc. but have not had good luck
with clip on solutions. Is there anything like the set up like the executive
case with the V R stream where you can carry the phone on a strap, lanyard,
etc.? I carry my Stream via the strap like a belt around my waist and it is
very secure that way.

Any ideas?
