After a quick Google search, video calling has been available in the
Facebook IOS app since the beginning of the year, and even earlier in
the Facebook Messenger app. Here's an article which talks about the
feature:

I'm not sure how to check for notifications, but it's part of the chat
feature, and the above link may have some clues.
