When I went and bought myself a new laptop it came with win 7 HP on it. I
don't care what OS it has and I'll use what it came with. When I went to
install iTunes, had the same dilemma. I choose the documents folder. I
figured it was between that and the music folder. Funny though in that on my
XP netbook it's in the my music folder and all my music is in iTunes <grin>

Alan

Subject: Where do I put my iTunes folder when transferring from a Windows XP
to Windows 7 computer?

  Hi,

I'm moving up (finally) to a Windows 7 PC from a Windows XP; it's a work
thing - don't blame me!. Where do I put my iTunes folder on the Windows 7
computer?

On my XP, the iTunes folder is located in Documents | My Documents | My Music
| iTunes.

On my Win 7, there's a Document folder, but there's also a UserName folder.
The default My Music folder is located under UserName | My Music. There's a
separate My Documents folder at the same level as the My Music I'm guessing the
iTunes folder would go in the My Music folder, but want to first double-check
with folks on this list.

  Thanks for any help.

  Keith
