Hi Sherry,

To my knowledge you cannot move apps with a braille display or Bluetooth
keyboard. However, moving apps while being a little bit hit and miss is not
so difficult on the touch screen. Let's say you want to move the Reminders
app. Find it and then double tap and hold until you heara triple tone and
Voiceover will say "Moving Reminders". Now without lifting your finger, drag
your finger left, right, up or down on the screen.

It helps a lot to know exactly where your apps are. Your iPhone 5 will have
5 rows of apps and the dock and in each row as well as in the dock are 4
apps.
Make sure you visualize where the app you want to move is and where you want
to move it to. For example, Reminders maybe in Row 2 and in third place from
the left which means second over from the right. Assume you want to move it
to the fifth row and you want it at the very left. After you double tap and
hold, move straight down slowly and listen to Voiceover telling you where
you are. As you cross other apps Voiceover will say "On App Store" or "On
Skype" (I am just using these as examples). You want to make sure you don't
lift your finger when it says "On" followed by an app name because this
would create a folder. Voiceover will also say things like "Row 3, column 2"
and that indicates that if you lift your finger at that point, the app you
are moving would be in the third row down and in column 2 which is the
second position from the left edge.

As I said, this requires some practice and it is sometimes easier to move
apps in several intervals, e.g. if you start in Row 2 and Column 3 and you
want to go to Row 5 and Column 1, move the app straight down until you hear
Row 5 Column 3, then let go, now you just have to move the app over 2 spots
to the left from column 3 to 1.

I find sometimes if I want to put an app on the very left or very right,
column 1 or 4, that it's easier to put it in column 2 and then move the app
which is to the left of it in column 1 to the right and across the app.
This will then cause the app in column 2 to slide left into column 1 here I
want it and sometimes that is easier because if you come to close to the
edge your app might wrap around to the next home screen instead.

Good luck,
Sieghard

Subject: a pretty basic question about moving apps

Hi all,

I have an iPhone 5. I'd like to do a couple things. Move apps I most use or
of a similar type to various folders. I'd also like, if possible, to change
things that are on the dock. I don't use email on my phone or safari or
music. I only have a 16 gig phone and way too much music for that. So, I'd
like to keep phone ont he dock but move three of my favorite apps there
instead.

Is it possible to do all this with a braille display? And if so, can someone
give me directions or point me to a tutorial on the process?

Thanks.

Sherry
