Hi Brian,

If your phone is up to your ear, the touch screen is disabled in order to
avoid accidently pressing buttons with your cheek. This means you have to
take the phone away from your ear which, if Voiceover is running, means it
will automatically switch to speakerphone mode. You can then check to see if
the numbers are displayed, if not you have to find the "Keypad" button and
double tap it in order to activate the keypad.
Unfortunately on some phones it is difficult to hear Voiceover as well as
any prompts the phone system on the other end might give you, in this case
it is best to use a headset because then you can easily understand both
Voiceover and the other side of the call.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: extended keypad

hi,

on the i4s, after you call a company,
how do you hit a number/navigate the menu?
after the call connects, my screen is unresponsive to any gesture or thumb
movement and i get cut off when i can't respond to the prompts.
thanks.
