You can mark your own locations with Blindsquare, no need to use
Foursquare.
I don't think there are any kind of private points in foursquare. Anyone
can see points you have created.

I?m considering buying blindsquare and have two questions. First is it
possible to mark points of interest without having a 4square account? If it
is not possible to do this am I correct that you can create a 4square
account with no friends and marked as private so no one can see your
points? Second some of the comments I read stated that the app uses the
cumpus for direction which doesn?t work well if the phone is in a pocket.
Is this still the case or is it possible to use GPS only for direction?
