A lot of us are use to the kbps reading when downloading a file. Remember that
when these internet providers talk about speeds, they give them in megabits,
not megabytes. So, divide their numbers by 8, and that gives the kbps, or mbps
speed in a a number to which at least I can more easily relate. So, 1 meg
down is 0.125 kbps at best. Keep in mind that oftentimes one does not get the
maximum advertised download or upload speed for varying reasons.

  Hi DJ.

If you're right, and the download speed is 1 mbps, I could live with that. I
could still listen to 128 kbps streams with Winamp. I called up our local
T-Mobile store, and they also said the speed was 2G. When I asked the
salesperson what meant numbers wise, he said it was like having dialup speeds.
If he's right, I couldn't listen to Winamp streams above 32 kbps, which isn't
good. Hopefully I won't find out which speed is correct, and when the money
situation improves I'll probably go to the maximum amount for my device, which
is 12 gb.

  Thanks for the info.
