Sieghard,
You were saying below in this last post about hooking the Nano up to her pc.
Can you hook up and iPad to a pc and do the same thing? If you can how do you
connect the iPad to the pc?

  Hi Mary Anne,

Do you mean how do you turn on the Nano or how to you start Voiceover on it?

I actually don't own one, but I believe the Nano also has a small touch
screen and a home button, so I would say after you power it on by pressing the
power button, try a triple click of the home key just as you would on an iPhone
or iPod Touch. Usually there is some method to Apple's madness so I wouldn't be
surprised if that worked for a Nano. If it doesn't work, I would just hook it
up to your computer, open up iTunes, go to the device and turn it on from the
Configure Accessibility button.

If this also doesn't work, below is what Apple says how to do it, I did a
Google search for "How to turn on Voiceover on an iPod Nano" and found this
information in the first search result. It is identical to how you turn on
Voiceover via the Settings app on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, but of course
you would need to ask a friend, family member or the sales girl at your local
drug store to do it for you. I probably wouldn't ask the wino on the corner
since he might run away with it *smile*:

iPod nano (6th generation and later): How to use VoiceOver

  To set up VoiceOver

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > General.

  2. Tap Accessibility > VoiceOver.

  3. Tap the On/Off switch to turn VoiceOver On.

  4. In the dialog that appears, tap OK to confirm your selection.

If you do nothing for 15 seconds, the dialog disappears, and VoiceOver is
turned Off. You hear an announcement that VoiceOver is off.

  Good luck,

  Sieghard

The Nano is accessible out of the box just like any iPhone, iPad or iPod
Touch. The only difference is that while it has Voiceover, you cannot install
the same apps on it as you can on an iPod Touch or iPhone.

  Regards,

  Sieghard

Is there a way or app that will make the Nano accessible?

  Thanks,
