Chris,

Gart from Australia has dozens of Podcasts on his site, www.iBlindTech.com.
He starts with a lot of iPhone or iOS basics, there are Podcasts about
specific apps and about more advanced iOS features like selecting, copying
and pasting text.

Make sure your friend is aware that there is a new iPhone coming in 3-4
weeks and for those next few weeks it is probably the worst time to buy a
current model iPhone. The 4S will almost certainly be discontinued
altogether and there are even some people who think the iPhone 5 will be
discontinued and Apple will go forward with just the new iPhone 5S which
will be their high-end iPhone and a new less expensive iPhone with plastic
back/case and fewer features and lower specs which the rumour mill says will
most likely be called the iPhone 5C. I think there still might be room for
the current iPhone 5, but we have to wait and see what Apple announces on
September 10 (2 weeks from next Wednesday) which is most likely the date for
their keynote when the new phones and the official release of iOS 7 are
being announced.

Regards,
Sieghard
