Hi, I had a bad problem with updates a little while back. I solved my problem doing the following: 1) empty the app switcher. 2) Reboot your phone. 3) now begin to to update, but take no more than two at a time. (Do them individually if you can.)
This was the method that finally worked for me. I hope it works also for you.
