I haven't done this myself, but from earlier discussions on list and a bit of research via Google in the past, you'll either need a signed copy of the firmware from Apple, which you can usually still get for a week or so after a new version of IOS has been released, or you need to save your shsh blob before upgrading. Here's just one place where you can read a bit more: http://www.ijailbreak.com/how-to-downgrade/

A backup isn't enough I don't think. That will only backup the contacts,

Isn't it possible to save the iPhone backup residing on the computer to
a designated folder and then move it back into the "official" backup
location if it is necessary to get back to the current iOS? That's what
I'd try to do.

Subject: downgrading i-OS

Hello
as we already know, i-OS 7 will be out next weak. i actually intend to
upgrade, but i heard that apple changed the voices. in case the Arabic
voice was not as good as the current one, will there be a way for me
to downgrade to 6.1.3 again? if yes, how can i do this?
