Hi Christopher, Closing apps in the app switcher can be done in two ways:
1. Swipe up with 3 fingers as was already pointed out. 2. When you are on an app you want to close, swipe down or up with one finger, Voiceover will say "Close" followed by the app name. Now double tap with one finger to select this action. The nice thing is that if you have multiple apps open and want to close them you can wait just a moment until the next app slides into place and double tap again, wait a moment and double tap etc. This is sort of like in the old app switcher where you could double tap and hold to start editing, then put a finger on the app on the left, hold it in place and split tap with another finger. If you kept the first finger in place the next app would slide under it and all you had to do is continue to split tap. Now once you flick down once to the "Close" action, it stays there until you change it and you can double tap to close one app after another. I find both the 3-finger swipe up and the second method work equally well and everybody has to decide which is their preference or use them interchangeably.
