Hi,
for me, Zoom is *essential* for me to be able to see Status bar messages, and 
lock screen notifications (such as push).  I really can't tell how IOS 7 would 
be any harder than 6, unless her vision is a little better than mine.  The only 
things I don't use zoom in are Calendar, Mail, Notes, and Messages, and 
Contacts, since these are adjustable to 56 pt. in General>accessibility>Use 
large Text. Oh, and also in Safari, as MOST, but not all, pages can be gesture 
zoomed (stretched).  Zoom's cumbersome a bit, but once you get used to it, it's 
beautiful.  Works well in conduction to voiceover too.
