David posted a rather nice description on how to do this, but it looks
like it was not included in this thread. You can check the archives,
since his description is much more detailed than my summary.
Go into the native Clock app and the Timer tab. Change the when timer
ends setting to stop play.

Hello, I highly suggest that you do a three finger double tap to
silence voice over if you are using the sleep timer with any app. If
you do not silence voice over, when the timer shuts down, voice over
will announce "screen locked ".
